What Is a Crypto Volume Bot and How Does It Work?

A volume bot trades a token from many wallets to lift its trading volume. Here is how it works, what it costs, what it can and cannot do, and the rules to know.

A crypto volume bot is software that buys and sells a token from a group of wallets so the token's trading volume goes up. If you have launched a token, you have probably seen the problem it tries to solve: a new token with a flat chart and no trades looks dead, and traders scroll past dead tokens.

This guide explains how a volume bot works, what it costs, what it can realistically do for you, and where its limits are.

What a volume bot actually does

Trading volume is the total value of buys and sells on a token over a period, usually 24 hours. Charts, DEX screeners and trending lists all show it, so it is one of the first numbers people check.

A volume bot raises that number in four steps:

  1. You fund one wallet. In Mentat Booster this is your master wallet, one per blockchain.
  2. The bot spreads the funds across "maker wallets". These are separate wallets the bot creates for the session.
  3. The maker wallets trade your token. They buy and sell through real DEX pools at a pace you choose.
  4. The session ends and funds come back. Whatever is left in the maker wallets returns to your master wallet.

Because the trades are real transactions on a real pool, they show up on block explorers and DEX screeners like any other trade.

Why people use one

  • A new token looks alive. A chart with steady trades looks very different from one with the last trade an hour ago.
  • Trending and "recently traded" lists. Many screeners surface tokens with recent activity. Volume is one of the inputs, though no platform publishes its exact formula and none of them rely on volume alone.
  • Tighter-looking markets. Regular trades can keep the price from sitting stale between real buyers.

What a volume bot cannot do

Be clear about this before you spend anything.

  • It cannot create real demand. Volume gets attention, but holders and a community keep it. Plan your launch so the attention has something to land on.
  • It is not free. Every trade pays the network fee and the DEX's fee. Over a long session your wallets slowly shrink. See crypto trading fees explained and how much a volume bot costs.
  • It cannot beat smart traders. Experienced traders look at who is trading, not only how much. A handful of wallets trading back and forth can be spotted, and some platforms discount that kind of activity.

Volume bot or bump bot?

They solve different problems. A volume bot uses bigger trades across many wallets to build 24-hour volume. A bump bot uses tiny, frequent trades to keep a new token visible. Many creators use a bump bot at launch and a volume bot later.

Rules differ by country and by market. In regulated markets, trading designed to give other people a false picture of demand is called wash trading or market manipulation, and it can be illegal. Crypto rules are still changing and enforcement varies, so do not assume anything is allowed because a tool exists.

The safer way to think about it: use a volume tool on your own token to keep a market active and your project visible, be honest in everything you say about the token, and check the rules where you live. Nothing here is legal advice.

How Mentat Booster handles it

Mentat Booster runs inside Telegram on Solana, BNB Chain and Robinhood Chain. It checks that it can trade your token before any funds move, uses up to 50 maker wallets, sends a progress report every 5 minutes, and lets you stop any time. When a session ends you choose what happens next: sell now, sell gradually or keep the tokens. There is no subscription.

The short version

A volume bot is a tool for activity and visibility, paid for with trading fees. Used on a token that has a real plan behind it, it can help a launch get noticed. Used instead of a plan, it just spends money.

Frequently asked questions

Does a volume bot make a token's price go up?

Not by itself. A volume bot raises trading activity and visibility. Price depends on real demand, so treat any promise of price gains as a red flag.

Is a volume bot the same as a trading bot?

No. A trading bot tries to profit from price moves. A volume bot is built to create activity on a token, and it expects to lose a small amount to fees on every trade.

Is using a volume bot legal?

It depends on where you are and how you use it. Trading that is meant to mislead other people about demand can count as market manipulation in regulated markets. Learn the rules that apply to you before you start.
